ticking sound??
ticking sound?? I just got done insatlling my hooker lt's and true dual setup, i know about ls1 lifer noise, but now since i have the headers i have like a ticking sound, pretty defined, please help. thanks

Re: ticking sound?? OR...the valves in the AIR tubes that come off the exhaust.Restrictor plates can be made to limit the amount of exhaust going in.I don't have a link but someone did a good write up with pics on this site.

Re: ticking sound?? You should also keep in mind that after a longtube header install, you will hear the valvetrain alot more. Kinda sounds like a sewing machine. That may be what you are hearing?

Re: ticking sound?? If you want to do the air restrictor plate mod, and don't want to cut your own plates, Thunder Racing sells a block plate you can use. Just drill a 3/16 inch hole in the block plate and now it's a restrictor plate.

Re: ticking sound?? the check valve restrictor vacuume air lines are fluttering....
add a restrictor plate (tin plate with a small 3/8 hole drilled in it) to the gasket flange on each header....they are pipes located on the header pipes near the heads ....the lead to a small tin can that contains a rubber valve for the emissions system..
Change this now or risk a burned-out check valve....

Re: ticking sound?? i had a ticking noise,sounded like a valvetrain problem. i did the block off plate drilled the hole,well....... it fixed my problem.90% of my ticking is gone. goodluck to ya.
