How can you determine if an F-Body fuel pump is dead?
A buddy wants me to look at his F-body. He says the fuel pump is out (98 T/A w/30K on it). The car will not start and he's done nothing to it. What, besides listening for the fuel pump click when turning the ignition to ON, can I do to make sure it's the fuel pump? Thanks.

I would check around, and try borrowing one. Most shops have a fuel press gauge. Comes with a hose that attaches to the end of your fuel rail. You should have somewhere between 58-60 psi when the key is turned on. If not, check the fuse for the fuel pump. It's listed on one of the fuse boxes under the hood. If the fuse is good and all the wire connectors are hooked up that go back to the tank, and you still don't have pressure, your pump is dead.
If you have pressure, you certainly have another problem besides fuel. Could even be a PCM fuse... Check all of the fuses first.
Ron,
