Default Intake manifold question

This would be my last bolt on item. The question is would spending the 500$ on the ls6 intake(to replace the ls1) be worth it??It says it claims 15 HP.Any of you guys notice a difference off the line or from a roll with this intake.Do you need a cam to really make it work.

There are used ones F/S all the time for around $300. I bought mine for $350 w/ LS6 valley system. I don't have any track time in between the LS1 vs. LS6.

I don't have any track times before the LS6, but I could definitely tell a difference after i put it on. Nothing life changing, haha, but it was definitely there, mostly after around 4500 rpm. I thought it was worth the $500 IMO...

if your are spending 500, get the fast 78, I paid 550 for mine, I see new ls6's for 350 all day with coolant pipes. keep shopping, I know tsp is less than 500.

I got mine from summit, I did alot of price matching, back and forth, I used to deal in aftermarket parts, so I know how much mark up there is, it is unbelieveable, I would suggest checking the sponcers first.

I would opt for a LS6 over a FAST 78.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/132102-dyno-test-stock-ls6-tpis-ls6-fast.html

Don't just look at the peak numbers, check out the area under the curve. The LS6 has about as much HP under the curve as the FAST 90 with a TPIS throttle body, and more torque.

I got my ls6 here for 150. Not a huge power difference except that it moved the powerband up higher. It used to drop off after 5 grand, now with the ls6 it keeps pulling hard till redline. Well worth it.

BYUNSpeed usually has incredibly cheap prices on LSx intake manifolds.

Possibly if you call around and whichever sponsor is closer to you, call them and let them know slp sells theres for $399 they might match the price.
