Default LoudMouth to Dyno Mouth conversion

Hey guys,

I have had a LoudMouth & SLP LT's on my car for a couple years now and have loved the sound and intensity of the exhaust note (especially at WOT ) I drive my car daily, and even with the LM & LTs it wasn't too rowdy around town as long as i kept the revs below 2000rpm most of the time.

However, I just had a 2800 Vig TC installed, and now the Loudmouth isn't quite as livable around town With the higher stall, my car seems to always be around 2000 rpm or more - right in the "drone zone" of the loudmouth.

I have decided to do a DynoMouth conversion in hopes of mellowing out the exhaust note at lower rpms.

Has anyone else done this before to their Loudmouth? If so, how effective was it? How was the overall sound quality? Did you notice (or find) a significant loss of power?I don't want to (and don't expect to) totally suppress the exhaust note, I just want to calm things down a little in the lower rpm range.

Anyway, thanks in advance for any feedback

I remember hearing your car at Speed Inc back in the fall after you had the Hotcam installed. Your exhaust set-up could definitely use a dynomax bullet muffler in the I-pipe(it'll still be real loud though because of the higher stall). Or you could just always sell the LM and replace it with another cheap cat-back using a muffler that will quiet things down some.

I was thinking the same thing, Mike I figure if doing the Dynomouth thing isn't effective enough, then I'll just get a different (quieter) catback and replace the LM.

The Dynomax Bullit just arrived ("18 long one). I'll post the results after I get it installed. I hope it works

D'oh!

the dynomax muffler I bought (the 18" long one) is too long to fit on the I-Pipe of the LM without it banging the floorboards

I have to order a shorter bullet muffler(16" or less) in order to make it work with my system.

I think I'll just go ahead and get a Borla muffler (the right size) that will work - they're pricey, but at least it will be stainless steel to match the rest of the exhaust system.

.......anybody wanna buy a 18" Dynomax Bullet muffler (3" in/out pipes)?
