IAC motor becomes a projectile!!

Last night during my "idle issue troubleshooting" Nick and I decided to pull the IAC motor and inspect it for visible damage (no matter what we did with the TB set screw we couldn't get Autotap to read anything but 0 ). While I held the IAC motor, Nick turned the key to "run" and the plunger shot right out of the motor! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> The new motor is on order, hopefully this will solve my issues.

I just did some more research on the issue and some people are thinking that autotap is a piece of crap and is not reporting the correct IAC motor on your PCM. Not suprising since autotap sucks. I am wondering if the IAC is fine and maybe it was just dirty or getting stuck afterall? hmm...
