Air tube into lid question.... (can i unhook the air tube?)
Alright, so I have a 2000SS now, and wanted to use my mti lid from my old 99 SS, but... on the stock air-intake there is a tube for the air system... Can I unhook this tube and leave it off? or will this create a problem?

You can leave it off if you want, but it'll just allow unfiltered air to go into the air injection pump, causing its lifespan to shorten. If you plan on putting headers without all the emissions crap on it in the future, I'd say just leave it off, or spend $5 at the parts store and get a push in breather from the ricer section. I had mine tucked back behind the brake fluid distribution block on the driver side..out of the way and not touching any moving parts.

I put a filter on mine and zip-tied it to the little eyelet on the radiator. If you tie it off/tuck it in somewhere be careful not to kink the hose restricting the air flow - it'll throw an air code.
