He's got the 00's, so same thing. I think the extrude hone is more expensive and won't show as good of gains as the porting would.

Yeah, California sucks, in that way. They bug-eating hippies are to blame.
I ported my manifolds, and didn' t really notice anything. Wasn' t really worth my time. I' ve heard stories of guys getting their cars yanked, but, it seemed most were pulled over because they were asking for it. I' ve heard of many people getting pulled over, and not even getting asked about opening the hood, so I guess it goes either way.
I am hoping when I get pulled over, the officer will take into account my attempt a smog, as I have kept all my smog equipment on the car an functional. I have cats', and only the O2s are disabled. I just keep my fingers crossed, and my foot out of the gas.
It ain' t fun, or easy sometimes...

I just installed Pacesetters on my bird. Went with the shorties because of Cali.
You are better off with these since you will gain some performance and you will save weight too. Install was not too bad. The passenger side was the most difficult. Getting all of that EGR crap moved was a pain.
If you do decide to go this route plan ahead and get extra bolts. You're gonna have to hack off a piece of the exhaust tubing from the passenger side that connects to the cat on the passenger side and get the new piece welded.
Mine were under $300.00 coated and shipped.

look at getting the thunder racing CHEATR cam, designed to run on stock manifolds, intake and exhaust.. you can probably get a deal from them for around 700 for the cam rods springs retainers, etc.. maybe around 500 for install

thats the plan, cheatr cam and heads
but just tryin to make the most out of stock manifolds. so far 110 plus shipping is the price. so thats still better then 300 for shorties.
