Default FRA on an SS??

im tryin to decide whether or not i wanna do the free ram air mod on my car. since the ss hood seals to the front of the airbox, what good would opening up the bottom do? im thinking that the ftra and other cold air kits that pull from the bottom come with the front airbox seal for a reason right? would leaving the front and bottom open cause a loss of torque?

If you think about it...on a hot day, the air is pulled through the hood. This would actually heat the air up as it passes through. Unlike the TA, it is not a straight path to begin with. I would start out with the FRA and then upgrade to FTRA or Super Sucker.
