Default Complete removal of stock gauge cluster

Sorry if this doesn't belong here, but it seemed like the best place...

I'm in the middle of fabricating a new gauge cluster that fits in the stock bezel, and contains all Autometer Sport-Comp gauges. The factory cluster will be all together removed from the car, and I'll have my Autometer tach, oil pressure, water temperature, fuel level, voltage, and tranny temp gauges in the dash. I'm also going to tap into the stock wiring to drive the "SES" and "low coolant" lamps. I haven't had a speedometer in a few years, so I didn't see the need to incorporate one now.

Anyway, are there any potential problems with removing the cluster? Is the PCM going to freak out over it not being present? I can't think of any reason it should be a problem, but you never know about these things. Since the car is still apart, I won't have any immediate way of making sure it still starts/runs OK, and I don't want any major surprises waiting for me when I put the engine back in and go to fire it up... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Thanks.

E-mail "KECHME", he did the same thing with autometer gauges and a CF bezel.

I'll see if I can get in touch with Sean, but I know that he's also running a F.A.S.T. system, so the stock PCM isn't in the equation...

Got it... Thanks Louis!

My setup is similar, using the factory bezel, and making a plate to go behind it, almost like the stock piece.

I used 2-1/16th Sport-Comp gauges, since I already had two of them and didn't want to have to buy more than I needed.
