Default Pulley Installed, have a question.

So tonight i got my ASP pulley installed, but i'm kinda worried that i didnt get the bolt tight enough.. I used the engine to break it loose cuz that mother was on TIGHT. took a LONG breakover bar and held it against the front subframe as my friend hit the ignition to break the nut loose. worked very well imo, however if anyone tries this method, remember NOT to start your car! anyways, i put some thread sealant on the bolt at the head and on the threads after i saw it was leaking oil, but i still cant really put the hurt on that bolt without turning the crank.. what can i do?

put it in first gear with the rear tires on the ground. oh wait i just saw your an A4. you can do what i did with my old car.... put something inbetween the belt and a pulley like a stake or something so the stake is being caught/pinched by the pulley and the belt... just have someone hold the tensioner pulley from moving down.

i'll try the stake idea. I already had my buddy put enough weight on the tensioner pulley to break the nut loose, so that didnt work. thanks!

Might be a little tough in an A4. Drop the starter and insert screwdriver or the actual correct tool.

man, make sure you have the coil packs unplugged, I do not think I would ever try that method again, I think you got lucky this time.

Just did mine...just find a pry bar or something to wedge in there, get a friend to hold it and you'll be fine....or you could by the tool (VERY handy).

ok heres the deal. i wasnt able to get any pulley tools on it, but i was able to get an impact with about 150psi behind it and some locktight (271). just had to drop the fans out, 5 min, and i HOPE i'm good to go. Bad news is, i torqued the tensioner pulley too much trying to get the belt on and f*cked it up. now my car makes a horrid squealing noise above 1000rpm's =\ although with my radio on and the ac blowing its hard to hear it. i'm going to have to find another tensioner pulley assembly now...
