The second Hooker install I did (on friend"s car) only took 5 1/2 hours!

8 hrs is the fastest I've done from pulling the car in to rolling it out ... for headers & Y.
Good Point on the spark plugs..... have a fresh set to swap in while the manifolds are off. AND, if you got higher mileage OR just want to upgrade.. NOW is the time for wires !

We (me and Slow Z28) Started at 8:30 on a Friday night and stopped around 12:30. Our goal was to just get off the stock garbage, and then finish in the morning. After about 2 hour we had the manifolds & y-pipe off, the steering linkage off, and so on. We were making such headway we decided to keep going. By 12:30 we had the driverside done (including new spark plugs), and the passengerside bolted up. In the morning we put the new plugs in the passengerside, put the y-pipe on, and hooked the AIR & EGR up in about an hour and a half.
id advise to have someone help you. I had just one of my friends who did nothing but either hold things in place, or hand tools to me. It was a huge help.

Best advice I can give. Take your time and remove all the parts you need to. (steering shaft, oil diverter, and coil packs.) You'll need to remove the spark plugs as well. Take off the wires while your at it. It gives you more room. The higher you can get your car the better. I had the rear tires on ramps and the front on stands. I had to jack up the passenger side to get the header in though. Then put it back on the stands to finish up. You will also want to loosen up all the manifold bolts before you get it up in the air.
Have fun. They are worth the effort!
