Default Did I do something wrong? (header install)

Reason I ask, is that my pacesetters tucked up WAY TOO EASY!!
I keep hearing all these nightmares about cutting squares off blocks
Removing the steering link
Notching the K member
And just in general that the install does not go well

However, I was able to get them fitted up without doing any of that! getting everything off was a pain, but the actual getting the headers in from underneath and fitted up was cake!

so what did I do wrong?

Nothing, I've done this a few times, just got lucky. I find with older/worn motor mounts some have issues, since it seems the block sits a little differently. You just got lucky, and everything lined up right, enjoy.

You did nothing wrong. As a matter of fact, sounds like you did it perfectly.

You now know why we like the Pacesetters so much. No, they're not stainless steel, but they're only $385 for coated longtubes that look great, give great gains, and are a breeze to put in. Just as you said: no notching the K-member, grinding the block, moving parts, etc. The hardest part is indeed just getting the old stuff off and then hooking things back up once the new longtubes are bolted in. Congrats on doing a great job and lets hear some soundclips or video!

Most of the problems you identified were present in early versions, which have since been corrected. My headers went in smoothly just like yours did. IMHO, they are the best bang for the buck header out there.

Every car is different. Some may need a little persuasion, others need none. Sounds like you got away easy. ENJOY!!!

Sounds exactly like my install me and my friend were baffled on how easy they slipped up and bolted on.
