I've looked at three different places for Hookers and they all said up to 99. I have an 01 and didn't know if they would work without modification

I have a 2002 and have Hookers. They work fine, all you do is plug the EGR tube with a block-off plate. They have the best ground clearance of any long tube, have a very functional design, and are cheap.

But, if I was doing it all over again, I would probably have waited and gone with Thunder Racing's 1 7/8" race headers. That is because I don't need any emissions fittings, I don't wanna have to buy another set of headers when I go hog-wild on the engine, and I love Thunder's products.

I have QTP longtubes and my car is lowered as well. I dont have too many problems except scraping the cat back on speedbumps.

I dont scrape the Y or the headers though.

I was just reading about the PPC products as noted above your post and it seems they offer a package with Random Cats. I'm going to read some more to make sure.

Just a FYI, Mufflex designed their y-pipe for the Hooker headers to allow Carsound cats to fit. I'm sure the bullet Random Techs will fit as well, but maybe not the longer ones.

There is some guy who sells MAC's on E-Bay all the time. I got a set of brand new coated MAC's with ORY pipe for $414. I want to go turbo eventually, so I did not want to sink a lot in headers. Some guys have made great HP with MAC's, but for purely racing, LT's give you more HP up top.

You didn't offer me the option... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
The correct answer to all of your questions is Hooker L/Ts.

honestly if you are doing the whole heads/cam deal you will be searching to get every availiable hp out of this new setup. spend the extra here to get the efficiency of longtubes, as to not "suffocate" your [new] engine.

macs will be great for ground clearance but again so are shortie style headers, and will help out in the 4500-7000 rpm range.

a good longtube will give you the low end torque and consistency to capitalize on your investment.

I just don't want to gut them open because of ground clearance but from what I've read the QTP's and the Hooker's (if I can make them work with cats) have the best clearance for the LT's.
