Default Stepped headers results

Swapped out my Grott 1 3\4" stright headers for the headers I modified for GTS-SS, 1 3\4" - 1 7\8" stepped headers. He is no longer needing then with the bigger motor

NOTE:the results are through a 12-bolt with 4.30's,22lbs chromemoly driveshaft, stock SS wheels with drag radials.

I may be wrong but I suspect that not all variables except headers were held constant between these runs. How does an improved exhaust system produce such uniform results across such a broad range? I would expect any improvement to appear mostly at the upper end. On the other hand, my engine doesn't go that fast.

The stock LS6 intake is restricting the upper RPM power potential. Dynoed 475rwhp with the 1 3\4" headers and my prototype sheetmetal intake, made that at almost 7400 RPM.

What was nice,it dynoed an even 500rwhp uncorrected.

This motor in a stock drivetrain car would make close to 500rwhp CORRECTED

Welcome to the "stepped" header club Alan with a properly designed step! Very nice results. Are you also using a true merge collector too?

Awesome results Allan!

Oh yeah, is the passenger side header phased correctly now or in the same firing order grot had it?

The pass header has the same phasing as the original Grott design.

Very nice #s Allan! Get the new and improved intake on there and an electric water pump and I can see close to 500rwhp through your un-dyno friendly drivetrain.
