Default Lid install problem....

98 WS6 TA

Yeah, I know this is supposed to be a 10 minute deal....
Ordered the MTI clear lid. It will not fit in the slots in back. The round part of the lid, and the bottom of the MAF are hitting the radiator cover housing/ bottom of airbox. Anyone else have this problem? I'd hate to cut that shroud and still find out that there is not enough room due to the radiator. Also, was I supposed to get a rubber sleeve or anything? I'm worried that when I tighten down on the supplied hose clamp that I am going to crack the lid. Finally, it doesn't seem to seal real well at the base of the MAF. Suggestions?

slp fits tight also u just gotto mush those tabs into there at whatever angle it go in at, once it goes in once or twice itll be easy from then on. the round part and maf is hitting cause you dont have those tabs in cause like u sid they dont fit, its supsed to be a tight fit underthere. there is no rubber hose the maf just pops in a always feels a little loose, just githen that clamp on the maf it wont break anything u can put everything u got into it with a screwdriver and it wont break.

yeah the MTI is a little tight on the first install... once you do it once or twice it fits much better... I called MTI and explained this to them, they said they are all like that and if it cracks they'll just send me another, so I stuck it it with no fear of cracking it and in it went... np now.

Yeah, I called, and got the same answer. Muscled her in, no problem now. I woulda put money on it cracking... Guess I'm used to aftermarket stuff for the NSX, which actually fits right the first time...

Thanks for the advice!
