GM Top Engine Cleaner
I just bought the aerosol version and it say's "disconnect the AIR diverter valve solenoid to divert the AIR from the converter"...
Does that mean pull a fuse or something?

Re: GM Top Engine Cleaner
I did this about 5 months ago. Still not sure what that is suppose to mean, but none the less, I used it any way. I took my lid off exposing the MAF. Then took one of those little straw things that come with WD-40 and stuck it on the spray can cap. Then just put the straw in past the MAF sensors and sprayed the whole can into the TB, making sure not to get any on the MAF sensors. Let sit for however long you can, the longer the better (I let sit about 6 hours) and then go drive the car and blow the **** out. Then change your oil. I havn't had any problems doing it that way.
Hope that helps some!

Re: GM Top Engine Cleaner
let it sit!! it will soak into the carbon and loosen it so it blows out the exhaust. it does make the inside squeeky clean. ps make sure you warm up the car to op temp first

Re: GM Top Engine Cleaner
The longer the better. The white smoke doesn't last verry long. Get on it a coupla times and that should do it!

Re: GM Top Engine Cleaner
Start the car and let it raech operating temp. Then spray entire contents of can into TB. Shut car off and let sit for as long as you can. Then fire it up and go drive it around and get on it a few time to blow it all out.

Re: GM Top Engine Cleaner
You know, my '99 Formula does not have that AIR Switch Valve. When I removed my AIR system there was just a Y-connector from the AIR pump to the 2 AIR tubes that go to the manifolds. Why would my car not have that??
On another note, I have noticed that I will not be able to spray the top-end cleaner directly into each spark-plug hole as has been suggested by a few other members here.......no room on the pasenger's side of the motor to get the can in there. Oh well.

Re: GM Top Engine Cleaner
just a word to the wise be carefull that the cleaner is approved for our engines. i know the gm cleaner is ok but there is a few product out there that will damage our intakes since they are composite and not metal. p.s thanks for the tip to let your car sit longer, how about letting it sit overnight or do you think the cleaner will dry?
