Default Mass Air Sensor

What's the difference between a SLP 85mm Mass Air Sensor and the stock ported Mass air sensor. What kind of gas mileage do you get comparing the two--I remember getting terrible gas mileage with the granatelli mass air sensor.

Thanks guys,

Brandon

I am trying to get away from the stock ported mass air sensor because of its relation to premature transmission failure--I just want to know what i'm getting into with an SLP (worse gas mileage, little or no power)

thanks

Yeah...you'll see the affect of it after 100k miles maybe, but not anytime soon, or even at all. Its a big farse thinking that your tranny is gonna fail majorily as soon as the ported ends go on. I've had ported ends on my car forever. It has almost 80k miles and still no problems <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

But, if you really want to look into an aftermarket MAF, then my advice would be to look into the LS6 MAF or the GMAF.

I like the Granatelli. Haven't noticed a gas mileage loss either.

You could benifit from the recalibration of the SLP mass air if you have no tuning. Other wise unless you are going with more air flow(ported heads and cam) than just use a ported stock one.
