wats the diffrence between a 98 and 01 t-body

Default wats the diffrence between a 98 and 01 t-body

hey guys im looking in buying a stock throttle body and i came across a 01 model and the seller sates it needs modification to work on 98 99 models.wats the deal with this?is there alot of modification needed?

You just need to unscrew the blade, remove it, slide out the cam/shaft and slide yours in. The newer ones have a larger cam than the 98-99's.

Use a little blue loctite on the blade screws when you re-install them so they don't get sucked in.

The cam on the end that the cable attatches to is smaller on the 98/99 cars.

hey guys one more quick seens i cant find a use 98 t-body and was wondering if i buy a new 01-02 model can i put ti on my car with n problem or will i have to still exchanged parts?

You will still need to mod it. They came different from the factory.

You'll need a new TB shaft/cam, they are one piece. The cam is the thing that has the cable passing over it which rotates when you step on the loud pedal.

Yep, it's just as simple as swapping them out. Check out the FAQ sticky in this section, it's got TB porting pics and should show how to remove the shaft/cam.
