Default Cutout ???

Well, I have a ? or two I have a stock 00' Trans am besides a flowmaster.
How much does a cutout help performance at the track, if at all. I know I
dont have the best muffler but would it make that much differ just with
a cutout besides the noise factor, and also do they get in the way of
sub-frame connectors.

Your a fool if you dont get a Cutout with a Flowmaster. I have a flowmaster and with my cutout open I get around 12rwhp on the dyno.

Cut outs sound very good on the stock setup, my friend has one on his SS with a bone stock exhaust and sounds really good.

My suggestion is get a manual cutout. One with 3 bolts and a plate. I have read that a lot of electric cutouts leak and fall apart after a year or so. If you go with an electric try to find one that you can at least cap manually if the motor does go out. Just my opinion.

By just feal, my car seems sluggish the cutout open. Closed it feals like its alot stronger, but I don't have any dyno #'s to prove it. On a stock setup I can see where it will help.

Usually with the cutout open you will lose some backpressure from a stop to low speeds but pick up some horses on the top end.

Well, I got my cutout and it sounds pretty mean the only thing it has a whisping sound not sure? It also seems like it has more torque at low-end and pulls harder top-end
