I was looking at the hooker Lts for 2000-2002 model. The bare uncoated headers are 409.99 and the ceramic coated headers are 629.99. Is there much more of an advantage with the coated headers vs the uncoated headers? What are the advantages and is it worth the extra money? Thanks a lot guys!!!

The coating is pretty much just for looks, and longevity. There's no real performance gain from the coating that's measurable. Theoretically they should be better than uncoated, but the gain is so small it's negligable. I have the uncoated Hooker LT's and the only downside is they rust over. I don't mind because it's not like they're going to rust thru, it's just surface rust. If you have the money to spare to get them coated go ahead, if you'd rather spend it on mods like me get them uncoated

Coated Hooker LT's are only $510 or so. Look under the Group Purchases section and contact Todd with Jet Hot Coatings. I have these and the coating makes the engine bay look bad ***, so don't be too cheap

The coating is an insulator as well as an appearance issue. It helps maintain the exhaust temp, the hotter, the faster it flows. Also aids in keeping underhood temps lower.
However you can basically get the same performance gains through header wrap and save a few bucks for something else.
