16volt battery question

If you ran 16V continuous alternator
output, you would burn out most of your
bulbs in a few weeks. As far as the rest
of your electronics, who wants to be that
guinea pig?
If you have cranking problems, a good 12V
battery and good, clean, quality cables
and clean connections are all you need.
Starting torque wants amps, more than volts;
volts are only needed to overcome resistance
and most of that, in the starter path, is
in your hands (quality & cleanliness).
I don't even want to know what "compelling"
reason there is for going to 16V. I might
be compelled to gag.
