You probably don't want to hear this but why not just get a Holley Power Shoot filter instead?

A couple of things wrong with the K&N filter, it wasn't really made for an LS1 ( that's why you need the foam gasket ), if the gasket starts to come a part it can get sucked into the MAF and or TB and last but not least is that the last time I knew K&N was charging $12 for that POS gasket. Thats why I wanted a new gasket because the thing was shrinking and coming apart. Luckly nothing got sucked into the MAF or engine from it yet!

Just call K&N. I did and they sent me a free gasket. No questions, no hassle. About when did you start to see the gasket peel off?? I have had mine on for about 2 years now and it still looks like the day I bought it.

i had the gasket on the factory lid for a long time, never had any problems with it
just gotta aftermarket lid, so i got the Green filter......works great, no gasket
but i would just call K&N up and try to get the free gasket, that'll save ya $50!

Screw the gasket...its too flemsy....just go to your local Home depot or so and buy some weatherstripping....the thin foan kind or rubber....it will work even better.....i did that on mine and it gave me a rel tight seal and snug fit .......no need for different filter or the same gasket!!!.......try it!!!

The weatherstripping was the only way I could get my K&N to seal. Dern K&N!!! I bought a Holley. Much happier with it!
