Default Mac or LTīs

I have a stock 2000 A4 and plan on get a good cam 224 114 or something similar along w/doing all the bolt ons incl. LT headers. Now a friend is not going to use MACs w/orp that he ordered and is willing to sell them for a good price. Now the question is, what doors will I be closing if I go w/mid lengths compared w/LTs.

Macs are a bit under rated from what I've heard lately, actually a very good header if you port/clean up (file down) the weld areas.
I would still go with LTs though unless the savings was truly great, as in great enough to buy you some other nice goodies. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

My heads/cam car made 447rwhp through Macs and a custom Y-pipe.

Thanks for the replies, why did you use a custom y-pipe in stead of the MAC orp?

MAC's are great headers for the price. I had MAC's on my car for a few months and my car was running like a champ. It sucked having to pull them off to get the car smogged. It all worked out in the end though because I sold them and picked up a used set of TTS longtubes. Hopefully I won't be dissappointed. The MAC's served me well even thought I was running the cat y-pipe. I'm just hoping the TTS's will be better.

For Hp/TQ or the future the LT's will shine over the MAC's, but my advice go with MAC cuz you're A4
and the MACs have flow very good. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I've got Macs and I like them alot. The only down side is getting them to seal. I have to tighten all the connections about once a month. It's a small price to pay but it gives me a reason to wrench on the car so I don't mind.
