Default NEED HELP POOR DYNO RESULTS!!!

I HAVE A 99 SS CAMARO M6, I'VE RECENTLY DYNOED IT AND WAS ONLY ABLE TO ACHIEVE 292HP AND 301TQ. MODS ARE DIRECT FLOW AIR LID, EGR MOD, 160 THERMOSTAT, HPP3, SLP LONG TUBES WITH OFF ROAD Y-PIPE, DESCREENED MAF, NGK TR6'S, PRO 5.0, 12-BOLT WITH 4.11'S, FULL BMR REAR SUSPENSION, AND 26;10.5 ET DRAGS ON A 15" RIM. WITH THIS SET UP I WAS ONLY ABLE TO RUN A 13.1 @ 106.5. STOCK I WAS ABLE TO RUN A 13.52. WITH ALL OF THESE MODS I WAS HOPING FOR A LITTLE MORE PERFORMANCE. ALSO MY SES LIGHT ALWAYS COMES ON BUT SEEMS TO RESET ITSELF OVERTIME. I WILL APRECIATE ANY INFO ON WHAT COULD BE WRONG OR IF THIS IS NORMAL PERFORMANCE FOR THESE MODS.

somethings not right, get that ses light checked out. even with that heavy drivetrain you should still be at 310-320rwhp or so.

FIRST OFF DITCH THE HYPERTECH, ITS NOTHING BUT A POS RICER MOD! DID YOU GET IT TUNED AFTER PUTTING THE LONGTUBES ON THE CAR? I LOVE TYPING IN ALL CAPS!

Just kidding.

Take it to get tuned somewhere with LS1Edit, chances are it is running pig rich after the LT install. Are you blowing black smoke out the exhaust?

You should be running mid-high 12s with those mods, driver/traction/weather dependant. Get yo **** checked out!

No I havent had it tuned i just ordered a cam and was planning on getting ls1 edit. When i dynoed it the air fuel ratio was 14 at 3000 and climbed to 15 by 5700 what is a good airfuel ratio. Also the where the header connects to the y-pipe on the driver side leaks Ive tried pretty much everything but cant get it to stop. It leaks where the clamp comes togeather to hold the pipe on. Ive tried twisting the clamp and placing it it different places and the leak continued to happen wherever the clamp came togeather. Ya driver error contributed to the 13.1 I had only 6 lb's in the slicks and it bogged down pretty bad off the line. Launched at 4000 and was cutting .550 lights and 1.948 60'.

Youre running too lean, should be around 12.8 for optimum a/f ratio.

I bet that SES light has something to do with your MAF senor. What ever is wrong (possibly compounded by your headers) is making you WAY lean.

I say check the MAF out first.

Damn, there's deffinately something wrong. I dynoed higher then that with my Z4 Z28 with only a lid/filter combo. I'd say it's a combination of several things. Deffinately wanna get that SES light checked out. Good luck!

yea 15:1 is extremely lean, you want something in the 13:1 range. And check out that SES light, if the lean condition is causing knock retard then your gonna be losing A LOT of power. My buddies A/F was 17:1 when he finally got it wideband dynoed after he installed his Hooker LT's. I just finished putting MAC's on mine and have yet to have any problems. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Find out what code you are getting, that may be the whole problem.

With the dynotuning we have done here in-house, we found that on several ocassions, ported MAF sensors were causing 14.0 and leaner conditions on the baseline run. I would try a stock MAF, and either re-dyno, or watch the O2's with a scan tool.

I went and bought a scan tool today. it said the o2 sensor on the driver side was bad and also the knock sensor had been in use. I do have a ported maf and im going to put a stock maf back on and change the o2 sensor and redyno it. Thanks for all of the advice and info it haelped a lot. Cam will be installed as soon as i get all of these problems fixed and i am going to have the car dyno tuned by c&s performance in orlndo florida. i will let you all know the results. thanks again for everything.
