Default Need Help Which Mods should I get?

Spending amount is 750.00. Not sure if I should get Air Lid & LS6 intake or Air Lid and exhaust. Its between Air Lid. LS6 Intake, Exhaust, Throttle body. Will one mod help out better then the other. Remember only spending 750.00 any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,

guessing this means your car is totally stock....

with that in mind....here is the order in which I would get each and why:

1) lid....its cheap...no more than $150 and it gets you on the road to making hp

2) cat back exhaust.....from between $450 and $750......will give hp but the "largest" gain will be sound. If you always wanted a "mean" sounding car then this will give far more daily driving enjoyment than really any amount of hp you could gain for that amount of money (note I said for that amount of money....not comparing to $50,000 for C5R motor, turbs, etc.... ).

3) LS6 intake..... for about $500 it is supposed to add a good jump in hp (something like 15 hp over LS1) and it sets you up with about the best you can get

4) TB is last..... they seem to range from $150 to $350 and the increase in hp on a stock car (no exhaust, lid, intake, etc....) seems to not be worth the money. From what I have read thus far, they only really seem to do their "magic" on cars that have all the other "toys" on them. I have the BBK 80mm and it really seemed to liven up the car, but realize I installed it after I had already done a lot of other stuff (lid, LS6 intake, underdrive pullies, hooker LTs, true duel exhaust) so the engine was ready for it.

Thanks Chris for replying and the suggestions. Any suggestions on a good sounding/performing exhaust? What about Slp Loudmouth?

Thanks

most people get over the loudmouth quick, b/c it is just raw loud sounding. The GMMG i think is a much better "tuned" sound.

I say for sure lid&exhaust. For the $$, the LS6intake doesnt give much HP for stock internals.
If you are thinking of throwing a cam in, go for it.

I would do something like:
Lid, B&M(M6), corsa/gmmg/duals, MAF+MAFT/or hpp3 for starters

new brakerotors/clutch is a first. Most people burn those stock parts out quick.

Go the same order Chris said. And a vote for the Loudmouth! Some people like it, some don't, I love it! Just be forwarned, at around 2000 rpm there is a drone, but that can be fixed; go faster!!

I had the Loudmouth. It was the last "factory style" exhaust I had before I went to an x-pipe/true duel system. I had the factory Z28, then a B&B, then a Flowmaster 80 series, and none of them were loud enough for me. I finally got the loudmouth and it was pretty good. To make it louder I gutted my factory cats and that made it really loud and harsh . The x-pipe/true duel is the best I have ever had (BY FAR!!!!!) but the loudmouth is my easy next favorite. I always hear that people find the loudmouth too harsh but none of the people who ever rode in my car had anything bad to say about it. I have an M6 and I never had that “drone” and 2000 RMP that I always hear about. I cruse at 2000RMP at 80 MPH so I got a lot of chances to hear it.

If you have the money and don't mind having the work done, go the true duel route. It is by far the best sounding exhaust system out there. If not, the Loudmouth is a good second.

For 750 I would

Lid $150
Catback $300
Ported TB $150
QTEC cutout $175

All that should run you about $750, of course if you want one of the more expensive catbacks, it will run you more.

Just FYI I gained 22rwhp in an A4 from a lid and catback.....I am still a little shocked with that gain, but what the hell, thats what it said
