Was just wondering if anyone has seen any dyno #s for before and after FIPK, any problems in the rain with a Ram Air TA <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" />

Definate difference. Looks trick. About 50% more surface area on the filter. Never was too crazy about the way the lids looked anyway. Kinda pricey though.

I got it for $259 brand new to my door. Very very happy with it. MysticZ has some great info and dyno #'s for it. Get it for sure.

I bought mine from Ramchargers. I think it was around $250.

SOTP gain was decent. However, while sitting in traffic the temp has increased slightly. Once moving though, it goes back down. (Normally it stays right below 210, in traffic it goes just above 210) I don't have a stat or fan switch, yet.

Have'nt had a chance to get it on the dyno but i would guess 10-20 rwhp gain.

I plan on getting a FIPK system. Do you get air from under the car as well? It looks like in the pics that the black plate is cutting the air off. Wouldn't it be better to have an opening under the filter as well as on top? More air is more power right? Right now I have a conical filter put onto a 3" short hose directly onto the MAF. I'm getting air from the ram air hood and also from under the car. But the K&N will flow better. I did 1 run at the track (to late to do more) with that setup. Now besides my suckass R/T and 60' time (first time drag racing her) she is capable of running 13.2's. Would the K&N help more? Here are my times:

R/T 1.100 (trying to power brake, didn't notice the light turned green lol)
60' 2.260
330 6.043
1/8 9.092
MPH 81.41
1000 11.663
1/4 13.834
MPH 103.51

Thanx for any info you guys may have.

Got the FIPK installed the other day SOTP feels great sounds good too like the old flip the aircleaner lid trick. I saw some pics of guys who have opened up the plate by either cutting several wholes with a hole saw or one big hole, even combine this with an SLP lower box extension. I think that at idle this will cause the engine to suck up hot air off the radiator (especially if the fans arent running) I havent done a thermostat and cooling fan mods yet-maybe after it might be an option . Traitors post suports this idea. Its still cold here so i havent seen any temp diff yet. Roarin_8 if you put an open element right on the MAF wouldnt the air your pulling from underneath be hot air from the backside of the radiator?

Well at the moment I have a 3" hose connected to the MAF and the filter connected to the hose. A friend of mine (who used to own an 11 sec LT1 TA) said having air from the hood as well as the bottom would help alot. Only if you are at idle then the hot air would come up. But once you are at WOT, there is alot of air coming in. And I assume that the hot air would get pushed out because of the high velocity of the cold air coming in. With this setup though, she did manage a 103.5 trap speed. I know that K&N flows better, so I want to know if it would make more of a difference.

BIGPLANTRANSAM- This is replacing the stock ram air. The air is still coming in through the hood and from under the car. Just not through the conventional air box lid and filter.

So would replacing a Lid with a FIPK be worth the money?
