I can't say for sure, but if you put the cut-out before the muffler, than it'll be louder than the duals. This is because the duals will use some sort of muffler whereas the cut-out will be straight back from the headers.

I've had both and I have to say that there really isn't alot a difference in the loudness of them. The true dual is just alot deeper sound and the cutout was real high pitched at certain rpms. I love my true duals. There's no way I would go back to the cutout and catback. Hope this helps. Later.

next saturday my true duals are going on. I'm gonna have comparison videos inside and outside the car of the cut out vs. duals.

cutout with offroad y-pipe is louder (even with a bullet muffler) but duals sounds cleaner/crisper/deeper... and is still REALLY loud. I've got a cuout with bullet right now and I'm going to a true dual setup when I get some $$. gonna try it out on a lowered M6. Should be fun getting around a town full of train tracks.

It all depends on the mufflers.I can't really say about the spintechs because I have never heard them.

If I had to guess it deffinately won't be as loud outside the car. I currently have a single 4" mufflex system with the spintech muffler (although I don't know which one it is) and it is very quite.

I would say the cutout in the y-pipe is louder then my duals are. I am insulating the floorapn better to try and reduce cabin noise.

I guess it doesn't sound that loud to me because I just ran at the track this past weekend with open headers, now that is loud.

loudness is VERY subjective. Anything dumping under the car will cause baddd interior resonanace and be loud as hell in most ways. Do you care about driving, from 40 ft away or what. So a better ? may be the differences is tone...

How about which is louder outside the car at idle, cruz, and wide open. I will be running duals shortly but with spintech pro street mufflers.

A cutout will be louder than true duals because there is no muffler. It will also sound raspier and not as deep. It will also create more cabin noise because it is angled sideways instead of down. It WILL eventually burn a deep black scorchmark in your carpet unless you take precautions. True duals sound much nicer as previously stated.

I had a cut-out before my duals and I would say that the cu-out is a little louder only at certain RPMS but the duals seem louder at WOT for sure, and also sound 1000% better.
