Who here has had their power steering pump go out? I believe mine is on its way out. About a month ago, it started to whine really loud. No prob, added some fluid, whine went away. Well, now the whine is back, but the fluid is still full...what gives? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Re: Who here has had their power steering pump go out? I've replaced quite a few . Either they whine or they break the shaft on the pump. If it's not real bad flush the p/s system by removing return line engine running & add atf fluid.Refill & add a p/s system additive like lucas's.

Re: Who here has had their power steering pump go out? I think the shaft broke on mine, wasn't makin any noises. Did a nice burn out, went to turn and it was hard to turn. took it to the dealer and they replaced it, no problem.
