Default Cutout Question?

I took a cutout I purchased from Jegs to a local muffler shop and asked them to install it, they said they would but I would not be happy with it because the seal around the outlet will start to leak. Then they told me I would have to replace the gasket every week. So is this true and if it it did leak a little would it really matter? Thanks

the paper gasket will burn up over time, but its not gonna be that bad! More than likely you will have it open more than closed..

I have a aluminion gasket that I got from advance auto for like 3bucks. I think its the flowtech connector gasket, just aluminion

I have the cutout i've changed the gasket once i put this gasket that to tell u the truth i think i got screwed cuz i payed 12 bux for it but i was driving all the way from Wa to Tx so i needed one in a hurry ne way it's suppose to be sum special B.S gasket that will never go out... well it hasn't gone out and it doesn't leak so don't worry.. muffler shops try to work there way around small jobs so they won't have to do them cuz they won't benefit to much from them

I have a 3" cutout that i bought from QTP and it came with several gaskets...about 3 of them and they also gave me 2 thinner gasket plates which I don't know what those are for.....regardless i always have it uncapped......I'll cap it whenever emissions test rolls around ....especially here in TEXAS!....but yep I still have them gaskets....not like they are gonna wear out...! emissions testing takes only minutes!!...so as soon as I pass it.....off it goes again and into storage for next year...

I have dual cutouts and I just went to Advance Auto Parts and but a set of Copper flange connector gaskets. No leaks here.
