If they told you it would be to hard they are full of crap.A true dual setup is not as bad to do as a y and single exhaust setup.

Re: Comparison of mufflers for true duals
Here are a couple videos of my car with the true duals.
There are a couple videos of my duals with stock cam, Mac headers, h-pipe, bullets over the axle. My car is the white Formula about 1/4 way down the page. http://www.leblancfamily.com/rick5/Vidpage.htm
Here is a video of my car with Stage 2 head and cam package, Grotyhann longtubes, h-pipe, bullets dumped before the axle.
http://harlan.sketchy.net/hawk/video/kevin_1172.wmv
Hope this helps. I'll try to get a couple more videos soon. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

There is a pic in my Webshots, link in the sig. Also there are some videos on the hosted by Derty link, that will give you an idea of the Edelbrock muflers, with Grott LT, x pipe, 3" pipe.

Re: Comparison of mufflers for true duals
To 3500 rpm my LT's, !cats, custom x and dual 12" bullets is tolerable. Granted it is loud, but I can idle away from a light without being too loud. But when you get over 3500 it is seriously loud. Highway cruising has a nice rumble to it that you can easily talk over or listen to the radio. No stall yet, so I can't comment on what that'll do. And you don't have to be 17 to enjoy your car being loud. I'm 26 and still love the roar at WOT. Although, I wonder how damaging it is to the ears, considering its very very loud.

My duals only took a little over an hour to do..And the shop had never done it before. Just find some pics of a setup you like and take them with you..and go to a shop that gives you a good feeling, don't mess around with the morons out there.. BTW I only paid $100 for 3" pipe and labor. I supplied the X-pipe and Flows.

Re: Comparison of mufflers for true duals
How is 6th gear for you guys when you're cruising on the highway? Mine drones SOOO horribly in 6th gear that unless I'm holding at 1500 rpm or doing 90 mph or above 2000 rpm it is intollerable. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> Anyone else have that problem? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> My M6 has basically become an M5. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
Setup is Hooker LTs, x-pipe, 12" bullets dumped before axle.

Re: Comparison of mufflers for true duals
Anyone got some good pics of their true dual set-up, over the axle? I am considering this but I don't want to lose any more gorund clearance. My SS isn't lowered but we have some terrible roads here in Ohio and i don't want to limit my driving because of my clearance.

Pointing them in will cancel some sound but pointing them out will only help with dust blowing up all over the place.

I was just told that if you point the turndowns outward it will help quite a bit. Was also told if you point them inward it can help out with noise and power.
I'll have vidoe/sound clips and pics of before after, cutout vs duals.
mine is pretty outrageously loud, but I only drive it 2 days a week now anyway
