Default Loudmouth Noise Level

I have done a search any opinions are still mixed about the noise level of the loudmouth. I have a bone stock 2000 Z28 and I will be running all stock piping with cats and stock manifolds....how much louder would the loudmouth catback be compared to the stock system?
thanks

My loudmouth sounded awesome until I put the long tubes on. If you're planning on getting headers, I wouldn't go with the loudmouth. It's waaaaay too loud. Get something with a muffler.

To me the LM is quiet with all else stock. Go with LM, ORY, and a set of LT's Some say its too much rasp, but its loud as ****

I loved my loudmouth with SLP LTs (w/cats) and a STOCK torque converter. It was rowdy loud, but around town I could keep the revs low and it was livable.

But things changed when I installed a higher stall torque converter (Vig 2800). With the higher stall, it seemed like all I did was drive around in the 2000 rpm range - right in the infamous "Drone Zone" of the loudmouth It was oppressively loud at worst and tiring at best. What made it worst is that living in the city, the sound echoed off everything. I had cops following me everywhere and I got a warning about my car being too loud before I decided to do the "dynomouth" (in my case "borlamouth") conversion.

So I guess if you have an A4 with a stock TC, then the Loudmouth is not out of the question, even with long tubes. But if you go with a high stall converter, buy some earplugs, and watch for cops. Or do the "dynomouth" conversion to it.

Hope this helps

I want to say its like twice as loud as the stock exhaust. It shouldn't bother you.

I read a post here where this guy had a stock everything and put on the LM because everyone said it was great. After he heard it he said "you have to be kidding! It sounds like an old pick-up truck and the muffler has fallen off." Thats how they sound to me also.

I have stock manifolds with no cats and loudmouth. It is very loud. However the performance gain is worth it. If I had to do it all over again which I am going to, I would go with something a little more quiet like Magnaflow and get a cutout. So it is loud when you want it and you get the performance gain and just sounds good when you are cruising. Plus it keeps the cops away. Just my opinion

How much louder the LOUDmouth is than stock on an otherwise stock car kinda depends on the RPM you are at....the higher you go the better it sounds and the louder it gets relative to stock IMO. It's not too loud if you don't step on it but still rumbles real nice below 2,000. And really sings above something like 3,000 though it is a bit louder there also . GET IT if staying with stock everything else exhaust like you said, it is awsome!

ive been in one car with a loudmouth and it does sound nice OUTSIDE the car. inside the car the interior noise is HORRIBLE. this car was all stock 02 firehawk besides the loudmouth and an slp y-pipe. a friend of mine has a 97 t/a with hooker lt's, no cats and a wide open borla and no sound deadener on the carpet and it wasnt as loud on the inside as this loudmouth car. i cant imagine driving with longtubes. yeah its cheap but what price do you have to pay? btw, im not one who likes it quiet either, my borla is wide open ALL the time.

I love my loudmouth dual/dual- sounds real mean... You'll intimidate a lot of guys just by having that tough exhaust note! Laser etched tips look sharp too.

I have two buddies with M6's that bought a LM. They both think it's borderline obnoxious loud, (but fun), but both thought that BY FAR the biggest problem was the DRONE. Can you hear me? I said, "DRONE". LOL - It will DRONE your butt until your ears ring off at certain RPM's. Both buds swapped out there LM resonator for a Dynomax Bullet muffler in less than a year, mainly do to the DRONE.

Since then, I swapped out my Hooker with my buddy for his LM with Dynomax Bullet cause I wanted more volume. I like the loudness and sound but am still working on removing more of the drone. It drones only 1/2 as bad as it did with the LM Resonator but that's still borderline too much for me.

One thing that you've gotta love though, is a LM at WOT when you're passing someone. That is a MEAN, intimidating sound!

with long tubes and a lightweight flywheel, get on the interstatebeside someone you know, if they are talking on their cell phone, rev the engine hard. make sure your exhaust is even with their door front, and now you have scared the crap out of them.
Done it may times

Another vote for the badass Loudmouth. Actually my vote goes to LT's with an ORYP, and the Loudmouth!!

When driving normal through town... it is great, and when you get on it... it can absolutely wake the dead!!
