Default Ported TB and MAF!!! Now have problems...

Well, the MAF was semi ported before, but I had a buddy polish it up some more as well as porting the TB.

When I drive the car around now and get on it...it won't downshift, and the converter just locks letting the car casually rise in RPM's. With the research tonight, I can assume with my A4 that I either ported the MAF too much, or something else is wrong with the car. I should have just let the MAF alone. It was already descrened and everything before. Never had any problems! My car idle's now at 1300 rpms

Maybe I need to set my idle screw down a bit, or just get it retuned.

Anyone??

Try a straight up stock MAF on there before you do anything. That might be the actual problem. You might have been "lucky" before.

Isin't there a kickdown cable attached to the TB on an A4? Did you forget to put that back on? Just an idea.

Kickdown cables went the way of the Dodo with TPS's and computer controlled transmissions.

Sounds like your friend might have hogged it out a little too close to where the blade makes its seal at. Are you positive that you hooked everything up right? Did you make sure that the IAC has its O-ring still in place?

I'm positive I hooked everything up right. We never took the shaft out, so the O-ring is still in there.

More like 500+rwhp. People port them because they think bigger is better.

The car runs strong now, nothing was wrong. I just disconnected the battery, waited 10 mins, reconnected it. Ran the car 10 miles, and then let it sit over night. The next day I went out and it pulls harder than ever.

Ahh, the battery disconnect mod....very worthy.
It probably just found idle after you did that.

nevermind guys........I found out today that my tranny is going out. I think I'm going to sell the car, it's giving me too many problems and gas expenses are crazy for this daily driver.
