Considering upgrading to a true dual setup. It would consisit of my Hooker long-tubes, an X-pipe, and a pair of Borla XR1 bullets and dumps. How loud would this setup be (daily driven car)? Louder than my current exhaust setup of an ORY and Hooker cat-back?

It really depends on what you call loud.Bullets are loud but the setup you are talking about with xr1s will not be bad at all.Borla xr1s sound deep and are not that loud unless you are under wot.
just my 2 cents

I have mine running out the back and it sounds good! Not to loud unless your at wot, even then it's not too bad. I had mine done at speed inc. It turned out very nice. It's not at all like a loud mouth or a cut out. It doesn't have that annoying rasp, its pretty deep. Hope this helps. Andy

Do you guys have non-functional style tailpipes out back? With true duals, I would imagine there's nothing peeking out back, right?
It's kinda illegal here in CA to do that unless you wanna get pulled over. What's the deal?

I have duals exiting all the way to the rear. Sound with bullets was beautiful, but, as others have mentioned, it was extremely loud. I added 3" cats to it, and now it's perfect for cruising, and still nice and beefy at wide-open throttle.

My tru-duals aren't THAT loud just cruising around. I can roll lightly past a cop without a second look. You can talk over it at highway speed without really raising your voice. However, if you mash the gas, everyone within a mile radius will hear it. Lets just say I proved that one night leaving a friends house. He heard my runin with a fox body mustang 3/4 of a mile from his house. It was also dead quiet at 2am, so this probably helped. Said it sounded similar to hearing the raceboats that used to race on Clear Lake! heh Needless to say, the Fox bit the dust <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I thought it was too loud with bullets and turndowns. On acceleration it gets loud but once you stabilize your speed it mellows out. I put down sound deadener on the floorpan and it is so much better now inside. With XR1s I would imagine it to be alot quiter then bullets.

I am running 18 inch flo-pro twisters in my true duals. Mine are running out the back. At wot mine is fairly loud.. but at idle.. or cruising down the highway.. you can easily hold a conversation in the car... when accelerating...you can hear it... but it isn't very loud.. but once your speed stabilizes.. it is fairly quiet.. I am very happy with mine.. I was afraid that it was going to be to loud... I was really suprised.. and very happy with the sound.
