Re: what is the best spark plug for the ls1???
Take a second to compare the +4 to the NGK (or any other) side by side. THe Bosch has one center pin and anywhere from 1 to 4 electrodes overhead. The center pin is completely wrapped in ceramic, so that only the very surface of the tip is visible. What happens when you get a tad bit of carbon on that small tip? How much resistance? Many other spark plugs show much more of the center pin allowing carbon to build a little but still getting enough spark to burn the carbon off. I think Bosch made the +4 to make up the difference in the fact that they couldn't keep up with a single electrode spark plug. Their design is ridiculous and I feel they are afraid to change the ceramic layer. They sell plugs by pure marketing, not by performance.
Of course, it's my opinion and I do not design spark plugs. People argue this Bosch +4 like religion and politics. I say, if you have to argue whether it's good or not - it's not that good.
