Default BAD VIBRATION

i have a true dual exhaust set up with two dynomax bullet mufflers dumped before the axle. it vibrates like hell inside the car. just wondering if there was anything i could do about the vibration? if there is not, then could i just run it over the axle. the passenger side is already over the axle, from the original exhaust set up, it is not hooked up though. so i just need to run it over the driver side. can it be done? thanks a lot for the help. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

maybe a part of your exhaust is rubbing against your car at some point, this would cause alot of extra noise/vibration, or maybe go with quieter mufflers like the borla xr-1's instead of the bullets.

well i know the exhaust is not rubbing anywhere. because i have hangers welded to where the exhaust is dumped to the back seats. do u think i could run it over the driver side of the axle? thanks.

You say that you have hangers welded. Are these solid steel hangers welded directly from the exhaust system to the car? If so, there is your problem. I had an incompetant muffler shop do the same thing on my car, and it vibrated like hell. You cannot hard weld the exhaust to the body of the car. Also, the exhaust system needs to move with the engine (and it moves alot). Welding it to the frame, etc, defeats all this, and causes LOTS of vibration...

The rear of the exhaust system needs to be hung with the same type rubber hangers that were on the car when you had your stock exhaust on it.

Any good exhaust shop can fab these type of hangers for you. They will hold everything up, but will allow the system to move with the engine, and will not transmit vibrations throughout the car.
