a friend of mine had one on his 99ss it picked up 1 tenth in the quater.It has to much drone and resonance for me inside the car.

I just installed my headers over the weekend and man do they roar at start-up. I was in the parking lot at work today when a couple guys were talking, maybe 30 yards away. Just as I expected, one of the guys jumped and looked over his shoulder as I turned the key of the LS1 as it roared to life. I had a big smile on my face. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
The only complaint is the LM. It sounds like a hollow chatter at WOT. Hate it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" /> I hope I can it fix it soon. Yeah...maybe a freakin' new exhaust. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" /> Oh well.

 

You can just weld in a couplee flowmaster one chamber muffs behind the axle. That's what I did, and it sounds much better. Almost NO drone on the highway. It still gets raspy at about 2500, but it's not near as bad as it was.

 

MY LOUD MOUTH DID NOTHING FOR ME PERFORMANCE WISE. BUT THE SOUND WAS PHAT COMPAIRED TO STOCK SS CAT BACK. SINCE I HAD A 4.10 GEAR INSTALLED MY CAR SITS ON THE 1800-2100 RPM DRONE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN SIXTH GEAR.IT SUCKS VERY BAD WHEN DRIVING WITH THE WINDOWS UP!!!!!! ALONG WITH THE WHINE OF THE 4.10, I DONT EVEN NEED A RADIO! HA HA HA HA

HEY I JUST MADE MATTERS WORSE! I BOUGHT 1 3/4" HOOKER LONG TUBES WITH AN OFF ROAD Y PIPE. ANY ONE GOT ANY INSTALL TRICKS/TECHS? I'M THINKING OF JUST PAYING SOME ONE TO DO THE INSTALL <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" /> .

 

If you don't have the right tools pay someone. I got wires, plugs, and headers installed very reasonably. My engine had to be unbolted and jacked up (driver's side). <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" /> At 2200-2500 my set up (Jet-Hot, ORY, LM) rasp a ton. Thinking about true duals, but may go with a bullet. After 2500 that baby screams.

HEY MAN I LIKE TYPING WITH CAPS ON!!!!!! IT'S EASY TO READ, AND I WANTED SOME TIPS LIKE TAKING OFF THE COIL PACK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ETC.
