Hooker header People HELP ASAP Hey guys stuck in a jam here i have both headers mounted and bolted on heres the problem the EGR and free EGR will not bolt on i dont know if i should cut it and weld it it on i tried bending it and that was a joke If i am not explaining myself correctly its the part of the EGR that requires the gaskets there is a total of 3 gaskets used ...so anyways what the heck should i do i am stuck so any help would be aswsome thanks

Re: Hooker header People HELP ASAP Let me guess........ You have a 2000 or newer right? They changed the EGR and AIR from 1999 to 2000, and the headers are only meant for a 99 car. I got lucky with mine. The guy that was helping me had a 99 and had deleted his EGR with LS1 edit, so I used his. The only thing I can suggest is to find somebody that can use edit on your car, or buy it, and delete the EGR and AIR. You can just put the block off plates on your headers after that. You should still be able to drive it until you do that, but you will have an SES light, and your car may not run right until you delete it all. Well, maybe you could do the same thing I did, and see if anybody with a 98 or 99 has deleted their EGR, and see if you can have theirs if they saved it. Hope this helped.

Re: Hooker header People HELP ASAP I am agree with NickMapleT/A - Narcosynthesis, i think your car is 2000, in this time you can delete the EGR or you can change the EGR to 98/99.

Re: Hooker header People HELP ASAP Throwing an SES light for NOT having AIR & EGR won't affect driveability. And you say you already got a code for no cats. I'm assuming you aren't running o2 simms? Re: Hooker header People HELP ASAP Bad part about driving around with that is something more serious could happen, and you might not know it, since the SES light is already on. I'd get a pair of air tubes from the 98-99 cars and install those along with a pair of O2 sims.

thanks for all the help... i eventually just bent the hell out of them and got them to go in the right place this was pretty hard but I got it done just took lots of time but got the job done nice and clean ...They sound awsome with no cats and the borla on them all and all it was a pain in the *** but well worth the trouble thanks alot for everyones help......Now next week is going to be even more of a challenge Cam intake install Ha ha
