How to wire AIR pump to come on all the time (or with a switch?)

Hi guys,

I am going to wire my airpump to come on all the time for emissions testing on saturday. Do I wire from the positive post on the drivers side to the power wire off the airpump? If not how do I wire it to come on all the time?

Hopefully that with new plugs, 2 liters of Methonal to a 1/4 tank and an idle speed of 1175 rpm will get me close enough to pass <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I am also going to try and do the test with the cutout open LOL! (If they'll let me hehehehe) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I wouldn't recommend it. When the AIR pump is on, it drives the O2's SUPER lean. The PCM expects this, and ignores them when it commands the pump on.

If you run the pump manually, you'll drive the fuel trims wacko. Send the fuel full rich and blow away your CO numbers.

if you have edit or a shop with edit near by you could have them make the cpu turn it on and keep it on???

Yeah Harlan makes a good point. Now if there was any way you could fab up the AIR lines to inject after the front O2's and before the cats, your plan would work. I'm sure that would be quite an undertaking though.
