I have had both SLP and FLP's. The SLP's hung low and would scrape. They were nice headers. The FLP's are easier to install, tuck up micer and are easy to swap between race pipes and cats. The new design only bangs with the race pipes in. I put a poly tranny mount in and that issues was solved. I like the FLP's the best out of the two.

Looks like the SLP "Oh, ****!! We got all four primaries down here... NOW what do we do??" design. Not smooth at all, VERY short. Gots to create lots of turbulence, yo.

I really like my FLPs.

Great ground clearance, I can switch from cats to race pipes in about 10 minutes.

My oil drain bolt is very close to the header but it comes out fine.

I can get them to bang it I drop the clutch hard in first, otherwise no way. Its just a little thump anyway.

Great performance.

My only concern is that some have rusted, mine are good so far.

I really do like my SLP's cause they fit and look so damn good, They are over a year old now and look almost as good as when I got them. Also they never bang. The only thing that sucks about them is I feel that I have a few more missing hp out there that I think I could get with a different type of header, I'm really thinking of switching to the qtp's eventually as they are supposed to fit really good and are now stainless. Oh yeah one other thing about SLP's is they are a bitch to install, you can't just push them up in there. I had to pry my tranny over with a 2x4 plus take out the steering rack knuckle connector to get them to fit up in there.

Fit and finish and quality SLP's are second to none they do hang low so if you want to lower your ride I'd go with the FLP's. SLP's really make good sreetable mid range power, TTs make a great header also but still SLP are all stainless and will look great for along time but it takes a whole day for the install.

I have read nothing but complaints about SLP's headers regarding fitment, quality, and performance gains..lack there of...FLP has the banging issue ..seems that the most popular choice right now (which will be mine as well) is QTP along with the electric cutouts

Power gain through the low to mid range was great. Have you ever looked at a set before they were installed?

I've been reading this board and ls1.com for a long time and do not remember reading about "quality problems" with SLP's. I've read alot of complaints about installation , and read that they are not the best performing headers.

I've had my SLP LT's for 2 years now and they still look brand new. Granted the SS is not driven in Rain or the winter months.

I had SLP's on my 01'. Great quality, but they banged the floor board AND hung too low. I have Jet Hot LT's on my 02'. GREAT clearence, no banging, and nice performance. I gained 6/10's and more than 4MPH with the Jet Hot's and custom made ORYP.
