Default Headers and Y-pipe?

Would headers with a Y-pipe, and a cutout inplace of the cat be equivalent or better than true duals?(with cutout open during comparison of course)

for a bolt-ons car they are probably equivalent, but the cut out wont sound as nice. Once you start getting into big power then you may be holding back a little power with the y-pipe

Dumped means that the pipes end right in front of the rear axle, and the pipe turns down to angle the soundwaves and heat away from the car.

Umm there are true duals for lt1's also, but this one desinged for LS1's may require a little cutting and welding to fit properly. look around on that site for some systems that fit LT1's
