QTP headers Should I order emissions or race style?
another thing..they do NOT do emissions testing where I live, only thing I would have to worry about is a cop pulling me over and deciding to take a look under the car
TIA ..always appreciate the help I get here <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[worship]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" />
1) "race" type headers will not have EGR or AIR provisions, which you have on a 98. Its up to you whether you keep these provisions or not. If you do then you will retain OBDII compliance for sure. If you don't you will clean up your engine bay a little, but you will have to remove the codes or you'll get an SES light. To my knowledge there is no performance gain either way. If you want a direct "bolt-in" then you probably want the street version.
2) If you go with an ORP you will need O2 sims to avoid codes. The O2 sims will trick the PCM into believing that the catalytists are still there.
3) If you can, see about getting the optional merge collectors too - that should get you a little extra performance.
Hope that helps. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
