Cut out sounds good!!!!
as mike (2000ls1z28) he heard my car in person.. With the cut out opened and closed. he could not tell whether i opened it or closed it. That is how much alike it sounds w/o a doubt it seems like i bought a 650 cut out
still sounds good though.so to anyone who wants a cut out with gmmg... buy a cut out sounds just like gmmg..
but when you pair gmmg with lts and catted y then it is a different story..
if anyone wants sound clips i can get some.
We're not saying the GMMG sounds bad or anything like that (it sounds very nice actually). But we're just saying when his DMH electric cutout is open it basically sounds the same outside the car (even around 3 grand). The tone's the same, etc (we can hardley tell a difference). The only thing noticeably different is his car is a little louder and more aggressive with the cutout open...
So, this doesn't prove the GMMG sounds bad...I just think it proves (to us anyway) that cutouts sound very good on LS1's with stock manifolds/cats. Putting LT headers + highflow cats dramatically changes the sound of the GMMG, but if I had to do it all over again, I would have saved my money and just bought a $35 Flowtech cutout instead.

Definitely try and meet up with somebody in your area who has a cutout on the same set-up you do in order to find out for yourself...
it is all up to you.. get a cutout and save some $$$$$
but if you do headers get the GMMG!!!

I have a cutout sitting in my garage, I can get it installed for $25, I may just try it and see how I like it. If I dont, it is only $25 I wasted.
