Default oil pressure sensor socket size?

Can anyone tell me what size of socket I need to replace the oil pressure sender? My biggest is a 7/8" and it is too smal?

They sell a special tool for removing the oil sender. I got one from O'Reily's for $7.95 But if you want to use a regular socket, it is a 1 1/16" socket but it must have a depth of 2.5" to clear the enire body of the sensor.
