Need help quick please!!!

Need help quick please!!! this should be in the tech section but sometimes it takes to long and I need halp pretty quick. I am putting SLP LTs on my 02 SS tommorrow morning and I have come into a problem
The headers came off my 98 Z28 so the air tubes are different. I called SLP and talked to Doug and he said he spok to the tech and they said all you have to do is bend them a little or block them out. Well I was quick to say ok and hang up the phone. Well now I have gotten all my stuff ready and I decided to look and see the differences, how the hell can you bend the air tubes that far... its impossible they won't even reach!!! And which ones do I block off now, I didn't remember there was 3 spots. WTF How is this gonna work!!! ( I would take a pic but I have to camera) Thanks to all who can help!!!

The headers were made for 98-99 aplications, as are almost all of them. The AIR tubes were obviously located a bit differently for those 2 years. It IS possible to bend your 02 AIR tubes to fit. Many have done it this way. Just take your time and be careful. Although if you don't have a bench vice, it could be difficult. You can also replace your 02 AIR tubes for 98 or 99 style. If you want to block them off you simply need to fab up, or purchase some block-off plates. *NOTE* You will throw an SES light for blocking off the AIR tubes, unless you delete them with ls1edit. Since you are putting these on an 02 car, you will automatically need to block off the EGR connection, as your 02 car has none.

Re: Need help quick please!!! it seems that GM went to some pretty great lengths to mount the crap out of those AIR tubes. all those supports aren't really necesarry. you can pull them forward to help meet your bent tubes. you just don't want them touching the engine and melting. like mobe said, block off plates are easy. i think thunder sells 'em. they're pretty easy to make though. good luck
