Default Kooks Primary Measurement

I bought some Kooks 1 7/8" headers. When I measured the primary tube diameter, it checked 1 7/8" on the outside dia. I would think it should be 1 7/8" inside dia. Does anyone know how Kooks or other companies measure primary size?

Tubing is measured in OD, hose is measured in ID.

Sir,
You are only partially correct – tubing is measured in O.D. only up to 12”; from that point on it is measured in I.D.

We call that PIPE not tubing lol. For smaller stuff its usually OD, but not always. 2" pipe we use in the plant is 2.375" or 2-3/8".

How bout this one, A/C men use OD for copper tubing/pipe, while plumbers use ID for the same stuff.

You obviously haven't worked with large diameter tubing.

I do know the difference between pipe and tubing.

Like I said before, tubing is classified by I.D. above 12".
