Default Lower the Air Dam?

Anyone ever try decreasing the air dam road
clearance? I'm thinking a lower scrub would
give more cooling airflow and help raise the
CAI/FTRA/FRA pressure as well as cutting the
undercar airflow drag rearward.

My notion is to use a hard rubber sheet that
could take the inevitable scraping quietly,
maybe back this up with something like well
spaced spring steel strips (not quite long
enough to scrape), and attach this to the back
of the stock piece.

Aside from snowplowing more water during monsoon
season, what else would be the downside?

I think its the length it is for cooling issues, I think if you cut it to short it wont cool the car down enough. A buddy of mine ripped his off and it got hot really quick.

I have been looking at the same thing. the angle on the existing dam is almost 90 degree this doesnt lend itself to deflecting the air upward. It apears that intalling a piece at a 90 degree angle pointing toward the front of the car with a slight downward angle out of a flexable material as Jimmy suggested would greatly enhance the airflow to the enginge and reduce the flow under the car. Im looking at popriveting a piece of aluminum angle about 1/4 of an inch from the bottom of the dam then rivoting a piece of 1/8 thick HDPE 2" wide to the bottom of the dam with a 10 degree rake downward.
