Thanks.....definitely one of the best mods I've done so far. Performance definitely gained, but the sound is amazing.

Dammit, I've never really wanted duals or seen the point of them (unless you made big power or just wanted the sound), but lately you guys are really making me want to run an H-pipe into either Flowmaster 1-chambers or Magnaflows out the back and into my CME.

Do it...you'll love the sound.

I havnt seen anyone bring up the issue of the rear dropping onto the top of the exhaust pipe when the supspension is unloaded from a big dip ect. in the road? Other than that im also thinking of doing this to my car, the roads arent the greatest here in Oklahoma.

Any experiences with this happening to you guys with your exhaust under the axle?

I have to hit a big dip hard or bounce over something for mine to touch the pipes and it has only happened a couple of times makes a thud noise and that is it. no real biggie, but just like everything from dumped duals to really low cars just takes more awareness of your surroundings

I have hit some pretty radical railroad tracks and other bumps with mine under the axle. I've never had a problem with it even with the gap shown in the pic on page 1.

4.6gt-2-ls1ta had his done at the same place as me.

BTW - When are you going to post some pics in the TD FAQ????????

I'm trying to find costs of it and the right mufflers to keep it quiet (and the right shop locally to do it). I thought that the Magnaflow 4x9s were the long tube-looking ones, but I guess those are the Magnaflow "bullets''? Those would fit in nicely right behind my bumper, but I hear they're too loud for what I want. If I do it, I might have to stick 4x9s right after an H-pipe and pray they clear enough.

There's a ton of true duals threads that I've always just skimmed over, but now I'm having to go back and read them all.... I just want it to be quiet, DEEP, smooth, plenty of clearance, and stainless.

I have them under the axle, 3" all the way back with the flanges incase I need to ever drop the axle, and I haven't scraped them at all yet.

I'm thinking of going this route as well. I currently have the TSP true duals. Can I just have a shop cut off the dumps and run some pipes out to the rear? Any suggestions on what tips to use?

This is exactly what I had done to my TSP system. I have magnaflow tips from their trucks/SUV section. I watned 3" inlets and most everything else is 2.25 or so. You can search the magnaflow part number with the word magnaflow on ebay to find them 1/2 price.

Check out the thread titled show me your tips or something like that for some more pics.

I believe either the Magnaflow 4X9's or the Borlas XR1's would fit your needs. Both are great sounding mufflers, but they are supposed to be on the quieter end of the spectrum. Cats will also keep it quieter at the expense of a few horses, but not too much at all. I believe they will both clear just fine under the car. Just make sure you find a shop that will take the time to fit it all nicely. There is plenty of room under there. Good luck and keep us posted. I am always on the lookout for new TD systems.

Yeah, I'm probably going with the 4x9s, possibly cats, and if it's still too loud, I'll stick in some bullets somewhere as well. As long as it sounds deep, I should be good, but it can't be too loud at all.

Is your system stainless? In my mind, stainless is the only option for me, seeing as my car is daily driven in every kind of weather. Do you think it would be best to simply purchase some stainless 2.5'' piping and just take all the parts to a (competent) muffler shop along with some pictures of what I want? I'm extremely picky about my car and just want to make sure it all gets done right.

I just need to find some information on H-pipe setups and little things such as where to put hangers and I'll be good to go. Hopefully I can route it right into my CME tips out the back with 2 sets of flanges (1 after the LTs and one before the axle).

jacobk, i'm not sure how close you are to the indiana border but a shop here where i live did all mine for 300. That's labor, and mufflers and the pipes. Could be worth the drive....I did dumps though i'm not sure if the price would be the same for what your looking for. Just thought i'd let you know that.

That's an extremely good price. What kind of exhaust tubing did they use for you? Stainless?

I did aluminized....daily driver but I only drive it 2 miles to work. I stood under the car with the exhaust guy and helped him......I got it exactly where I wanted it.

I'd love to hear your setup if you do something like this Scotty-Z. I'm the same as you, I don't want it to be loud at all, but thats kinda tricky sometimes with keeping a higher flowing exhaust with power behind it.
