It idles quiet especially if you have stock cam and thats without cats. The video clips make it sound louder than it is.
I liked mine pretty good but it slowed my car wayyy down from the duals that I had before it. I had to let it go. If I had to run a catback that would probably be it.

i run LT's, OFY (brand unknown, came on car when i bought it), but i know its got a hooker cat back. it sounds good, but can get a little raspy towards the higher rpm band, say 3k on up. you can really hear it coming when you're in the throttle. sounds better to me down low, running hwy speeds. (i also used similar header setup and hooker cat back on previous 99 T/A) i'm actually planning on taking it off later, trying to find something quieter...jegs has there own brand with a turbo style muffler, might try it...

I run Pacesetter LT headers, Hooker ORYP, and Aerochamber muffler and its definitely not quiet. I also read that this setup would be quiet so that's what I went with. I guess if you're in a rural area with few neighbors and the LEO's don't bother you it would be ok. Where I live its a problem.

buy cats for it. an LS1 - cats = rasp. be prepared for *pop* *pop* *pop*. people say hooker doesn't rasp but it does. they're comparing it to the loudmouth and such w/o cats. all ORY's on LS1's rasp. put cats on it and it'll sound great.

I have the same exact set up as you. When you are idling and driving nice and civily it won't be too loud, it will have a nice tone but it will be relativley quiet. When you stomp on it, it will sound really really nice. I get tons of looks like wtf was that. It is a really good set up the original owner did it and he did a good job of picking a nice setup

I have Pacesetter LT's and Jet Hot Y Pipe w/ hooker catback. I first put it on with the cats on and it was pretty quiet. I took the cats out and I was surprised with how much louder it is. I think I will put the cats back in, as w/out cats it's a little raspy around 2500rpms.

I ran a Hooker and longtubes on two of my previous f-bodies. I think it sounds good and is my favorite exhaust for the money. On my last car I had a Vig 3200 and Hooker and it wasn't too bad, but I wouldn't have wanted to go with anything louder since it took a lot of throttle just to get moving.
