^ You are absolutely correct. This is how and why cutouts don't affect airlfow adversely when they are shut with that big ol' chamber just sitting there. I simply wonder if airflow is slightly affected by the lack of the airflow diverter if they went through the trouble of designing an airflow diverter to begin with.
