white smoke from spark plugs? please help
white smoke from spark plugs? please help I just want to make sure this is nothing serious so im going into every detail i can think of.
The engine is a 00' LS1 Its now in my 91' Camaro. After about a min or so of leaving it running and idleing alittle while hazy smoke start to come out of what looks to be the spark plug boots. It doesnt do on everyone just the spark plug 3 back on the drivers side, and 2 back on the pass. I thought it was my block off plates leaking so i sealed them up with high temp sealer. my exhaust manifolds are torqued to spec, as well as my spark plugs. I re-tighten my O2 bung plug on the drivers side, and retourqed my manifold to Y-pipe bolts(that have new gaskets in them).
Any ideas of what this is or how to determine where an exhaust leak is coming from? or is it just some resude of a somthign that got on my manifolds or block?

just a question but did you just do this swap? and if you did, did you put brand new headers/manifolds on the car or painted the manifolds or anything? if you did, it's just the headers smoking which is normal.

I re-used the stock manifold gaskets, and did not paint the manifolds. I thought if the manifolds were leaking there would be an aparant ticking noise?

did you use anti-sieze on the threads on the sparkplugs? If so i wouldnt worry about it, the smoke/smell is just the excess burning off.

silicone grease in the plug wires? most likely grease from the swap. But I would put some antiseize on them, it is steel to alum.
